Animation Camp (Beginner and Advanced) - July 5th to 9th, 2010
Explore your creativity this summer! Youth can sign up for Beginner classes (9:30am - 12:30pm) or
Advanced classes (1:00pm to 4:00pm) in either the July or August sessions. Sessions will be held at 66 Queen Street South,
Downtown Kitchener.
- Focused on teaching students about stop-motion animation through hands-on activities
- Teaches how to animate with X-sheets, rigging, and green screens, write dialogue, and the animation of walking, running and talking
- Explores the history and varied methods of creating animation
- Describes the 12 Animation Principles developed by early Disney animators that are still used today
- Teaches how to create story boards and animations using Stop Motion Pro
- Students will be provided with all necessary equipment to work on a professional level while focusing on developing their animation skills.

- Explores the history and varied methods of creating animation
- Describes the 12 Animation Principles developed by early Disney animators that are still used today
- Teaches how to create story boards and animations using Stop Motion Pro
- Students will be provided with all necessary equipment to work on a professional level while focusing on developing their animation skills.
Youth Animation Workshop: Advanced Level - March 7, 14, 21, 28, & April 4, 2009
Classes will run from 9:30am to 12:30pm & 1:00pm to 3:00pm at 66 Queen Street South, Kitchener.
- Focused on developing students' technical stop-motion animation skills
- Teaches how to animate with X-sheets, rigging, and green screens, write dialogue, and the animation of walking, running and talking
- Students will be provided with all necessary equipment to work on a profession level while focusing on developing their animation skills.
- The class is based around producing a short animation "The Fart that Saved the Day... and the Knight", to be co-production by Grayden Laing and The Multicultural Cinema Club
- Upon completion, the film will be entered into film festivals around the world
- All students who work on the film will be credited based upon their contribution.
Fee: $150 (subsidies available for low-income families)

Second Animation Camp - The Children's Museum - October 25 to November 29, 2008

In collaboration with The Waterloo Regional Festival for Animated Cinema, the Multicultural Cinema Club
offered a 6-week animation workshop series at The Children's Museum. The camp, which ran from October 25
through November 29, offered children a chance to learn first-hand the skills it takes to become an
animator. The focus of study ranged from the basics to final editing each week.

First Animation Camp - The Working Centre - August 11 to August 15, 2008
|
This was a fun, engaging, hands-on filmmaking opportunity for youth over 13. Participants were able to
learn, explore their creativity, and work in groups to create animated projects in a hands-on, dynamic, and
interactive setting. This workshop was offered in cooperation with Ed Video who provided much of the equipment
used by students.
