Downside Up

Downside Up, the third documentary produced by MCC and directed by Azam Fouk Aladeh, explores the causes and consequences of youth homelessness in Kitchener, Ontario. This thought-provoking documentary looks at the human side of life on the streets, at love lost and found, at friendships forged, and at a community that, despite hardships, sticks together through thick and thin. It presents profound insights into the lives of the youth, their struggles with mainstream society, and their recommendations for social change. These are voices that need to be heard and understood if we are to become a truly integrated community.


Legacy of the Heart

This documentary honours celebrated Canadian journalist, author, and humanitarian, June Callwood. An Officer of the Order of Canada, June's most notable achievement was founding the world's first hospice for people living with HIV/AIDS. This film looks at the history of Casey House and pays tribute to those who helped make it a reality. Directed by Azam Fouk Aladeh.


Northern Choice

The Lives and Experiences of New Canadians

Northern Choice is the first documentary production of the Multicultural Cinema Club, directed by Azam Fouk Aladeh.

A fascinating and thought-provoking documentary that explores the human side of Canadian immigration. Featuring interviews with immigrants from Ethiopia, Syria, China, Guatemala, Peru, Egypt, Poland, and Guyana, the film takes the viewer deep into the hearts of Canadian immigrants as they share their hopes, dreams, and experiences. "Northern Choice" challenges the myths, prejudices and biases present in Canadian society, while inspiring viewers to recognize the value that immigrants bring to Canada. With the far-reaching social and political changes around the world, "Northern Choice" will resonate with the growing Canadian immigrant population, as well as those born in Canada

Filmmaking 101

This documentary is about group of youth who were trained at MCC to be filmmakers. The film follows the youth as they discover and learn about the art of filmmaking, and features interviews with youth about their experiences throughout the filming process. These youth worked on the documentary Northern Choice.
